WHS Exchange Show with Japan a Great Success
WHS Show at the National Art Center, Tokyo, Japan. Click to see online gallery
The WHS Show held with the JWF Exhibition in Tokyo was a great success. As it was a time of cherry blossoms in Japan, 16 of us from the USA greatly enjoyed the best of their seasons. The welcome from JWF was one of a kind. Our delegates from WHS appreciated the great hospitality by JWF. No words can express our gratitude. The WHS display was in the center of the entire JWF Exhibition at the National Art Center, Tokyo. The total number of works was 700 including 31 from WHS. All the exchange events were coordinated well with JWF. This gave us a chance to understand their watercolor culture, raised on different soil with a different history.
I want to express gratitude to Caryl Morgan, Judi Betts, Wayne Conyers, Missie Dickens, Peggy Zalucha, Mary Ann Pope, Mary Lou Ferbert, Ara Leites and Hiroko Shikashio, who as members of the WHS delegation, gave extra support on this trip and with the event.

Watercolor Now! 2011
The next Watercolor Now! will be held at the Slater Memorial Park
Gallery in Rhode Island from January 9-28, 2011. The
gallery is very scenic, and once was a two story boat house that
has been removed and converted into a gallery. It’s on
a park by a lake, and is currently the setting for the annual Rhode
Island Watercolor Society National Exhibition. More information,
as well as a prospectus, will be forthcoming later in the summer
of 2010. |
